If i attack with Strip Bare:

and knock out my opponents active pokemon that has a Rescue Energy attached

does he/she also have to discard the pokemon since its going back to his/her hand?

i personally dont think so but wanna make sure

You check for KOs after the damage is done so strip bare will not discard the Pokemon that was brought back to the hand with Rescue Energy.~Mark

to be more precise, you fulfill all effects of a attack before you check for a KO.
thus the effect of discarding our opponent's entire hand takes place before your opponent takes back their pokemon via rescue energy
