'Steam Siege' Set List Discussion

Welcome to the 'Steam Siege' set list discussion thread.

We know that there will be 4 EX with 2 Mega-EX Pokemon, and 7 BREAKs. All of which are accounted for in Explosive Fighter and Cruel Traitor with the exception of 1 BREAK we can assume to be Talonflame BREAK promo.

With the inclusion of the standard FA's (that aren't confirmed but highly likely) we know all of the cards that will potentially be in the set. One current toss up is whether or not there will be a Ninja Boy (FA) along with the Pokemon Ranger (FA) or if we will see the inclusion of the Professor Sycamore (FA) promo card along with the Captivating Pokepuff and Talonflame BREAK promos.

Well, now is as good a time as any for Armaldo/Anorith to return, considering that they've been absent since Legends Awakened (eight years!)

Transformed the thread for Steam Siege discussion. We know 99% of the cards thanks to Explosive Fighter and Cruel Traitor but its still in the air on which promo we can expect to see. The biggest toss up is between the inclusion of a Ninja Boy (FA) which will be confirmed or denied once XY11 releases in Japan. If Ninja Boy does not receive a full art card, the spot opens up to the promos Professor Symcaore (FA) or the Karen promo. Due to space however, there will not be both in this set, a major loss for Steam Siege, but such is the Pokemon set list way.

Both Karen and Sycamore kan be in the set! Check my post above

I definitely think Sycamore FA will be in the XY12 reprint set, it seems to make more sense there as a *special card* than thrown into XY11 where we could have Karen instead.

Yeah its a real shame that we may end up having to choose between Karen or the Professor Sycamore FA but at this point I think I'd want the Sycamore more. Karen isn't that needed of a card and blinging out my Greninja BREAK deck is my top priority.

Updated the list for the confirmed Gardevoir-EX and M Gardevoir-EX set numbers and everything matches up perfectly thus far.

I reckon it will be Karen over FA Sycamore. Don't know why else they'd rush to have Steam Siege ready for Worlds unless they wanted to counter Night March/Vespiquen builds

Well that settles it, with the release of Greedy Dice #102 and Ninja Boy #103, there will be no Karen in this set. So unless we are going to see another trainer card promo, I think its a safe assumption to make that Professor Sycamore (FA) will be included finally.

One thing I hope gets added in is the water type Black Kyurem.
I wouldn't expect it to be in this set. It would more likely be either a promo or in our November set, since all the cards add up, which unfortunetaly leaves no room for Black Kyurem being in Steam Siege.

Well you might be right, but I think for the moment I'll keep the hope alive. I'd hate to wait until November for the Black Kyurem to show up. I don't see how we'd get it as a promo since the 3 pack and 1 pack blisters for Steam Siege have been revealed.

Speaking of promos for Steam Siege, I wonder what the pre release ones will be.

I could definitely see some dual-type cards be pre release promos, maybe Shiftry and Bisharp, since they probably both still are holos, and then maybe Infernape, Ampharos or Chandelure?

Bisharp, Volcanion and Hydreigon seem extremely likely to me. Bisharp seems to be the poster-boy of the non-EX dual-types, Volcanion's the cover card, and a legendary, which most of the Fates Collide ones were (and really, I expect Volcanion probably would have been the Sneak promo if there was only one, similar to Zygarde last time), and Hydreigon since it's both popular, and has a BREAK. The only thing that makes me kinda ponder this is that they might want to use Xerneas and Yveltal here. But if they don't, I'll guess the fourth is Cobalion, since it's another legendary, but it could just as easily be a dual-type (I'm not sure what I'd lean towards, though. Maybe Volcarona? I don't think Galvantula will be a Rare, and isn't popular enough for Sneak status anyway. But Volcarona would also duplicate types, which didn't happen last time. But that could be coincidence.) You know what? My gut feeling says random Samurott. Who knows.
