RE: states deck

Dustox... It just PWNs.

It's about time these types of threads start to show up. What with States only being... two months away. =(

RE: states deck

I don't know. I'd play Gigas, but Ramparados will be around. Maybe I'll play Ramparados. Lol.

RE: states deck

I was gonna go with Drapion...(Hence avatar and sig. :D) But now I'm thinking Shaymin/Leafeon/Sceptile. Or Dustox, because DawnOfXatu is playing it, and he's a master at this stuff.

RE: states deck

^ATM Drapion doesn't look to be in the set. Which is too bad because Drapion actually had a couple of good options, especially the Unown K, Drag and Lock idea. I played around with that and it does in fact work lol.

RE: states deck

I'm most likely going to go with Dusknoir because it too much my style of play. I'll porbably throw in some techs like Muk SW, Bronzong, and who knows what else I'll be using with him (besides the usual Uxie and Azelf). If anybody can think of some good techs to go long with Dusknoir can you pm them to me?

RE: states deck

... T-Tar. Been debating this for awhile. Seeing as I've added a few changes and tweeks to both my Tyranitar and Machamp deck and they both work wickedly fast and effective. But I think in the long run, T-Tar will be the best to run with. Not sure yet though. My choice might, and most likely will (as it always does) change. I also wanted to run Drapion, but not 100% sure on that. Another choice was to bring back AMU, just because my version is.. well.. ftw. lol.

DawnofXatu: How does Unown K and Drapion work together?

RE: states deck

^ Pokeblower/Metagross/Palkia to bring out a tech on your opponents side (Claydol/Uxie/ect.) then you use Drapions attack to do 40 and 40 snipe, an no retreat. Then next turn you use 2 Kind to remove the 40 placed last turn from their active. Then you just repeat the cycle locking your opponent with a bad active and wrecking the bench.

RE: states deck

What? No Drapion? But I thought that adding up GC + Entry Pack + IFDS leftovers met the 127 cards that will be in Platinum.

I was going to do some variant on Darkrai/Drapion...bleh

And what stops them from using Warp Points?
^The fact that there are only 4 in a deck :p

Seriously if you keep hitting their main attacker for 40 then they can only KO around 2 Drapion throughout the whole game. As long as you can cycle Drapion effectively, and get it out quickly, then your opponent will eventually fail.

RE: states deck

T-Tar or SP. Depends on the cards I get prior.

dmaster out.

That's siiick. That beats my Drapion/Weezing/Toxicroak idea by a long run aha. I migh try that out if you don't mind.

RE: states deck

I'm not getting the strategy, DOX. So you're hitting their bench and healing their active?

I'd rather do 80 active and 40 snipe, thank you.

You use something like PokeBlower, Metagross, Palkia Lv. X to bring out something that SHOULDN'T be their active. Such as Claydol, Uxie, or any other techs your opponent may have. You hit for 40 to their active, 40 to their main attacker (Let's just say Dusknoir).

If you keep healing their Active, it'll never die (obviously) meaning, they are stuck with Claydol as their active while their Dusknoir keeps getting hit. Also, with Drapion Lv. X's attack, the Claydol can't manually retreat either unless it's equipped with Unown G. So the only thing that can save them are things like Blower, Metagross, Palkia, Warp Point, Switch, SSU.

Ahhhhh, I see. It's a decent strategy...I need time to consider the two. I just love the Idea of Poison, heavy damage and snipe.

I'm fairly partial to Gengar Gliscor. I'll probably bring it. Gliscor can take care of most opponents, and Gengar is just to stall while you do.

Also, I have a speed Raichu X deck that runs fairly well. Unless my opponent can snipe for at least 90 damage. Stupid Magmortar.
