Ruling Snorlax Lv. X question

Can I use Big Appetite if I have 6 or more cards in my hand already? It's similar to the Claydol GE ruling, but you don't return 2 cards to the bottom of your deck so I wasn't sure.
 
Claydol worked because a change on what cards are in your hand would still happen. With Snorlax LV.X you aren't changing what card are in your hand which means you can't do the play since it would be for no effect. If another professor disagrees or can provide further information feel free.~Mark
 
If you do not draw cards, Snorlax will not become asleep.

Just like if you dont put cards under your deck for Claydol, you did not get to draw
