Ruling Shuppet and plus powers

You can look up rulings on the compendium. The compendium is the official rulings. A card in your hand is not considered to be in play. In order for a card to have an effect, it must be in play, unless it says otherwise such as Team Galactic's Invention Power Spray. This means Pluspower loses its effect of being discarded at the end of the turn while in the hand.
First calculate the damage, then apply all effects of the attack. The attack of Shuppet makes it go into your hand which means it is no longer in play and Pluspower would not have to be discarded.

Does this -bleep- really fly at tournaments? And no one protests at all?

its not that great, play mr.mime and you pretty much auto win.

And the reason I'm arguing this is because I'm tired of taking your(collectively, everyone on Pokebeach) word as law. A lot of you use this strategy, ergo, will defend it. If any of you have an official title or rank, and can actually give a definite ruling on this, you have to convince me, or repeat yourselves. Or, even better, can anyone show me an official, uneditable ruling on this and/or a place where I can ask for official rulings from credited sources? There has to be something!
I'm pretty sure me and dragonexpert know the rules well since were both professors. Your question doesn't make any sense anyways, the cards tell you what to do. If plus power isn't there you can't discard it.

its like what if I play shuppet with 4 plus power then super scoop it up then claydol away my plus powers, are you gonna go look at my hand and then search my deck for those plus powers to discard them. Plus powers have to be in play attached to a pokemon to discard them.

The Rulings Compendium We are only trying to answer your question. Being in posession of the cards has no effect on the gamestate and its rules. You are not allowed to search your deck at any time unless a card effect allows you to do so.

Popular...so sad. No one can make up their own decks anymore, just do whatever works for the other guy. Tragedy. What happened to the good old days when Charizard was god and the game was almost only for fun.

Actually, I have never taken anyones deck ever. I alway make my own decks every since I started playing and I took second at cities a couple weeks ago with Sceptile. so i'm gonna have to disagree with you saying that.

Fun-adjective
1. something that provides mirth or amusement.
2. enjoyment or playfulness.

:p :D Sorry, smart-alek moment.

The game used to be fun, now it's all about winning. Sure, winning is fun, and some people only care about that. And using cheap and broken strategies is fine in tournaments when you pay to play and there's a prize on the line. But I've started to find that people have lost the old, child-like, sense of competition and sportsmanship. But I digress. This is not about philosophical ramblings on fun, joy, enjoyment and all that. I get that this argument is going nowhere fast, so, I give up on caring.

Thanks for the link.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game has never been about winning from the start. It has always been about having fun. It is about the Spirit Of The Game, which is one of the Professor Core values. I haven't won a tournament other than Prereleases for quite a while, but I still have fun, despite usually missing top cut from drawing terrible the final round of Swiss.

Sorry but there is no deck that can beat every other deck.

and yes there is a lot of people that have lost the old, child-like, sense of competition and sportsmanship, but its not like that didn't exist in the past.

and not trying mini-mod or anything, but were going off topic of the shuppet/plus power question. Which is what this topic is suppose to be about, If you want to complain something else you don't like, which it seems like you are and this isn;t just mainly about shuppet/plus power then you should probably make a thread that isnt in this forum

The question has been answered numerous times and the Compendium confirms the answer, so no more posts unless there's a follow-up question.

I told you once and I'm saying it again. Stick any other discussion to a PM or a different thread.
