Ruling Shedinja SV vs. Mesprit X, updated with new question

If my opponent has a Mesprit X leveled up from Mesprit LA out and I have a Shedinja SV out, would Mesprit not be able to do damage to Shedinja because its basic form has a power?

But Mesprit X technically does not "have" a power, it just "uses" one from its basic form, right?
