Selling in Trading Corner Questions

When selling, is it okay to ask the buyer to send the payment first (even with the 3 month-15 rep rule in play)?

In general, sales (especially in real life) are almost always made with the buyer paying first then they can have whatever they bought.

Any rule covered in the Trading Corner rules topics? I don't think a "trader" can be considered a "buyer", right..?

Just wanted some clarification.

I would think you could consider a buyer as a trader. Think of it.

"I trade you this 10 dollar bill for your Card X and Y."

I see Behemoth's point about this. Perhaps some sort of rule can be enforced where someone cannot sell unless they've reached the 3 month, 15 ref rule? Just so someone who wants to buy cards doesn't get their merch before they purchase it.

You could take it this way, but in places like Walmart, Target, etc, do you get away with getting products without payment first (legitimately of course)?

What I'm asking is if the seller is allowed to ask for payment before he sends the merchandise (without the 3 month-15 rep rule), as seen in my example. For some reason I can't help but think that when a customer gets their merchandise without paying, especially a high-priced item, they will run away and disappear.

Just trying to clarify just in case there is some confusion around.

Just letting you guys know that Porygon and I have both read this topic and we think that while it sounds like a decent idea, there's really no reason to implement it because the current system works fine. Sellers are currently bound to the same rules as normal traders - send first to those with sufficient references. It hasn't been a problem, so we'll leave it as it is for now.

To answer your question, BEHEMOTH, you can make a note of refs on other sites if you want, but for the purposes of requesting others send first, you must have 15 references on this site. Members are not required to go by anyone's outside references.
