Scovillain ex, Moonlight Hill, and Other Gym Promos Revealed for July!

scovillain ex actually looks really solid. right now, arbok ex's hand disruption has helped it get some results in japan (even if its typing is also a big factor in its viability). for scovillain ex to discard a random card + a top deck card, rather than your opponent choosing what cards to discard, for one less energy is pretty valuable.

grass type decks dont have a lot of resources right now, so it probably will be a while until this card gets legit play, but i'm liking the potential

What makes you think it's coming a month before rotation?
This'll most likely make it into our February set (SV5), as we have another set of gym promos before this one. I believe rotation will be in April. Depending on release date, the legality of that set will be either late February or early March, making it legal 1 month before rotation. Could be in our special set before SV5, and in that case, it'll be 2 months.

love how the scovillain 1 prizer is better and probably hits harder than the ex....>.>not sure what these guys are doing with this game... whats the fear of making a non super popular pokemon good?

Gym Promos are usually like this because they avoid making them too good since they have low availability, just see what hapenned a while ago with Cram-o-Matic.

Scovillian ex isn't a bad card at all, especially compared to the other v/ex gym promos. I wouldn't call it great or meta but those discards could potentially be unforgiving

Scovillain ex + Forretress ex + Path + Iono = could be a pain if you can lock your opponent? May need Hammers/Fan bc that damage output is otherwise pretty rough. Still within two-shotting range for most things though, which could make the card interesting!

Did the Pokémon company assume that Ting Lu would be oppressive, and try to counter it early? This is a strange move, TPCI!

If they are alternative reprints, then Cleffa has an error: Cleffa has Darkness Weakness and Fighting Resistance, instead of the correct Metal Weakness and No Resistance.
They really printed it as psychic instead of fairy lmao. They shouldve just kept fairy seperate imo

Scovillain ex looks at least a little decent. Being able to disrupt a hand and get your opponent to potentially draw into a dead card is not bad. Damage output could be better, but you're still 2HKOing VSTARs and some ex's.

Yeah, this is confusing. Maybe it will be corrected when it's released. Unless they're deciding that Dark weakness and Fighting resistance is going to be an option for Fairy-type Pokemon...which technically would still be based on the games since Fairy does resist Fighting and Dark could be Poison.
