Scizor-Steelix Prime?

Would this idea work?

I was looking for good card combos, and I thought this could work. Steelix Prime from HS - Unleashed and Scizor Prime from HS - Undaunted. They both have tanking power, and can deal a hit. Steelix is a standard tank. He has massive HP for a Stage 1 and can abuse healing cards, like Blissey PT and Moo-Moo-Milk, and Special Metal. Scizor can also abuse Special Metals, but, he has something that Steelix doesn't: He can compleatly stop Special Energies in its tracks. A lot of decks use Special Energies these days, Special Metal, Special Dark, Double Colorless Energy, Warp Energy, to name a few. Both cards can also deal a hefty blow. Steelix can do 100 damage for five energy, which isn't that hard to get with Steelix's first attack, Energy Stream. Scizor can deal 70 damage for two energies, more for more. So, does anyone think this could work? Here's a rough list:

Pokemon:
3-3 Steelix Prime
2-2 Scizor Prime
2-2 Blissey PT

Trainers:
4 Moo-Moo Milk
3 Life Herb
3 Expert Belt
4 Poke Healer +

Energies:
4 Special Metal
6 Basic Metal
3 Double Colorless Energy
3 Warp Energy

As you can tell, this list is very rough and not even complete.

EDIT: Oops, I forgot the Poke Healer +. Thanks for reminding me.

I think this could work. You'd need to boost the consistency like no other, such as using lots of Trainer cards, and not fearing being Trainer-locked. There really isn't any synergy between the two cards, but as you said, they can stall your opponent tremendously. I'd consider using Sableye SF as a starter, so you can Collector and get the Onix, Uxie, and Scyther ready pronto. Getting set up quickly is the key, if you want to tank through fast decks like LuxChomp.

Thanks for reading the rules.

I recomend using one or the other. The only synergy Scizor and Steelix have is that they are the same type. In my opinion, Steelix is better, so I believe you should make that.

^ The two cards work together wonderfully. Also, Scizor is more of a tech against mirror matches, or anything that uses special energy

I'm very much attracted to the second option in that little poll you have there.

You're lacking the speed that a single attacker would give you, and the only thing that makes up for this is the fact that you have 2 options: both with the same Weakness, no less.

That is also the only "combo" existing between the two, because the playstyle is very different. Scizor is a quick T2 beast if I've ever seen one, with Garchomp protection to boot. Steelix is a slow stall beast who if I call correctly can't win anything bigger than a Prerelease.

In the end, by mixing them, you get a mediocre deck that has 2 different starts, both of which are slower than they need to be. Compare this to Speed Donphan, an actually viable deck, and you can immediately see what's wrong.

I've played plenty of stall decks over the years, and although they look great on paper, they really do not deliver in play. Loading your deck with healing cards such as Blissey and the trainers doesn't do much but ruin your consistency and take away from other options that the deck could use.

Also as those of us who were around during the days of VanderHatter recall, two random Pokemon with nothing in common does not really work in a deck. Yes it can nab some wins, but it is almost always because you focused completely on one half of the deck and ignored the other. Therefore I would suggest that you decide between Scizors quick yet somewhat fragile playstyle or Steelix's bulky and somewhat slow playstyle. You could tech a 1-1 Scizor line into a Steelix deck if you wanted to, but either way be sure to make the deck consistent and then add two or three healing cards as extra, I'd suggest Pokehealer+ but that is just me.

@stealthangel667- I do believe that a steelix tank deck went very far at Worlds this year. I'm not sure what place it got though, but it did do very well

tyranitar prime destroys this deck. powerclaw + special dark energies will wipe out your steelix tank and scizor special energy counter.
i had used the same steelix and scizor deck and i totally lost against t-tar.
also, instead of blissey, i would put in a togekiss UD line. blessed wings is a great refresh imo
