Reviving fanfics

I was on vacation for a couple weeks, and couldn't work on my fanfic. If I posted the next chapter now, it would be a revive. Could I post it anyway, since it's a relevant update and not just a bump? Yeah, I know this is probably one of those "read the rules" questions, and I have re-read the rules trying to figure it out, but PokeBeach rules are fairly unclear sometimes.

They would suggest re-creating the thread. That would be called "reviving" if the last post was two weeks from the last one

No we wouldn't. You can update the original thread.

Also, what rules are unclear? Can't be having that.

Well, the rules do say that you can only revive trading threads I think. >__>

dmaster out.

If I had known that, then a couple of my fanfics wouldn't be lying in graves right now...
*sigh*

I was going to update my latest fanfic, but my family and I took a trip around the countryside for about 4 or 5 days..
When we came back, I think it was about a day after the 2 week limit.
Would it be ok if I still posted?

Thanks.

3. So, can I post in it?
In most circumstances, no, you can't. Posting in a dead thread is called "reviving" the thread. All revived threads are locked on sight, and repeatedly reviving dead topics will get you warnings and even banned, so it pays to pay attention. You may, however, post freely in YOUR OWN trading topic in the Trading Corner as well as YOUR OWN "My Player" thread in the Wi-Fi League forum, regardless of the last posting date. The only other time you may post in a dead thread is if the thread's topic has had a significant, relevant update that warrants a revival. This instance is rare, however, and you should probably just create another thread. Better safe than sorry.
Avoid dead threads like the plague. Chances are your information isn't relevant enough to warrant a revival.
"Relevant" isn't exactly clarified. You might want to add a few examples.

I'll let you know if I spot anything else like this.

Yeah PMJ, the rules didn't state that fanfics could be revived...

Perhaps allowing the author to revive his or her own thread with good reason could be made possible?
