DPPt/HGSS receive gift from friend?

in the mystery gift menu, one of the options is "receive gift from a friend". how do you work that?
 
Some events let you, the only one so far is the Japanese Secret Key from Platinum.

Well, The only way to get mystery gift is to do what u did. To get wi fi u need the wep key for your box that supply the internet eg netgear and when u r at the screen were your about to go on to your saved game go to wifi setting and search then put the wep key in.
