Ruling Quick catch-up with Roseanne's

I kinda left the TCG for a while and forgot some things so could someone refresh my memory on Roseanne's Research. Does it let you search for 2 Basic Pokémon, 2 Basic Energy or 1 of both, Thanks.

Wait what? Zyflair is partially incorrect. Unless Roseanne got some errata that I don't know about yet, you can also take just one card or no cards at all. The reason for this is that the contents of your deck aren't known to your opponent. This rule also applies to Cyrus, etc. The way to check for this is that if it says "up to two" it means you don't have to take two. If it says, "in any combination of" then you can search for any combination of the cards that are listed.

EDIT: Oh wait. That's what Zyflair said. X_X But I explained why and gave some tips, so I'll leave my post.

You can fail your search because the game has no knowledge of the contents of your deck.
