PS 1 Question UPD!

I have no idea were to post this, so I am posting this here! Can Play Station 1 games play on Play Station 2 and 3 Systems?

EDIT- I am playing these PS1 games on a PS2, to create save data for these games will I need a PS1 memory card or a PS2 memory card insterted in PS2?

You can't play PS1 games on PS3. I tried before.

But, iirc, you can buy downloadable PS1 games off Plastation Network Store that will play on PS3. I never go on there besides to buy add-ons, but I'm fairly certain you can buy PS1 games there.

The reason I ask is because I want to get some Classic Spyro games to play, cause I used to play them!
