Ruling Prerelease Cards?

My friend had given these Pokemon cards to me. They're in this little box that says Diamond & Pearl, Legends Awakened. I examined the cards but they ALL seem to be printed funny and cut poorly. Are Prerelease cards always like this? Is there even a such thing? o.0

There is such a thing as a prerelease promo (it is a certain card from the set with a special stamp on it). However, if ALL of the cards are cut funny/printed poorly, they may very well be fake cards.
There are cards that are cut incorrectly (called error cards), but not very many of them exist (they are considered valuable). No real Pokemon cards though, be they error cards or not, are printed poorly though.
