Now that many of us have seen Pokémon Origins, what are your thoughts on the possible continuation of this storytelling method into the later generations? Would you like to see an anime special made up for any of the later generations? If so, what would you like to see focused on or explored? If not, why not? Would love to see some discussion on this, since I think the format for Pokémon Origins has a lot of potential.
I may as well start with myself. In case you haven't guessed by my creation of this thread, I would love to see a Pokémon Origins-like special for the later generations.
While the generic plot of all the games is the same (get badges, defeat bad team, defeat Elite 4 and become the champ), it's pretty obvious from the existing special that this basic plotline isn't the main focus. I think there is a lot of diversity in the details, teams, and characters of the various generations that would make additional specials worthwhile, and also fun to see!
I think the one I would look forward to the most would be Gen III (preferably Emerald version), since I would love to see how they handle the duality of the teams and the battle between Kyogre and Groudon. They could have an entire episode done in the alternating weather sequences while Brendan or May climbs up the Sky Pillar to summon Rayquaza. But, honestly, I think all the games have a good potential for an anime special like Origins, and I hope we get to see them.
