Pokémon Origins: Gens II-VI?

Now that many of us have seen Pokémon Origins, what are your thoughts on the possible continuation of this storytelling method into the later generations? Would you like to see an anime special made up for any of the later generations? If so, what would you like to see focused on or explored? If not, why not? Would love to see some discussion on this, since I think the format for Pokémon Origins has a lot of potential. :)

I may as well start with myself. In case you haven't guessed by my creation of this thread, I would love to see a Pokémon Origins-like special for the later generations. :D While the generic plot of all the games is the same (get badges, defeat bad team, defeat Elite 4 and become the champ), it's pretty obvious from the existing special that this basic plotline isn't the main focus. I think there is a lot of diversity in the details, teams, and characters of the various generations that would make additional specials worthwhile, and also fun to see!

I think the one I would look forward to the most would be Gen III (preferably Emerald version), since I would love to see how they handle the duality of the teams and the battle between Kyogre and Groudon. They could have an entire episode done in the alternating weather sequences while Brendan or May climbs up the Sky Pillar to summon Rayquaza. But, honestly, I think all the games have a good potential for an anime special like Origins, and I hope we get to see them. :D

I personally loved Pokémon Origins and I would love for a continuation with a similar anime style. The Pokémon Voices and the attack animations looked much more serious and realistic.

They did a great job with focusing on the interesting stories of the game.

For the next series I would love to see them expand on:

II
  • Ilex Forest and Celebi. I know this only happened in the Japanese games, but it would be awesome to see it in the anime series.
  • Ho-oh/Lugia and the two Legendary Beasts/Birds. Their backstory and capture. We got to see the capture of the birds in Pokémon Origins, but not their backstory and relation to Lugia.

III
  • Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza. Their backstory and battle with each other. Also how they are eventually calmed down and captured.
  • The battle against Team Aqua and Team Magma. This could be combined with the previous point and take up 2+ episodes.
  • Animated underwater battles.
  • Meeting/Capturing Jirachi.
  • Pokémon Contests; in-game style.

IV
  • Arceus and the creation trio. I would LOVE to see more of them in the way they were intended by the game. Traveling through the distortion world to meet Giratina. Going to the Hall Of Origins (although not accessible in-game) and meeting/capturing Arceus. Also meeting and capturing Dialga and Palkia. The Pixie Trio can also play their part here.
  • Stopping Team Galactic. Can be combined with the previous point as well.
  • Traveling through the snowy mountains while watching intense battles.

V

This is particularly interesting, because there are two stories in this generation. One happens 2 years after the first two games. It would be great if we got to see both playable characters on their journey.

BW
  • I would love to see how the playable character travels through the region and eventually teams up with Reshram/Zekrom to beat the evil Team Plasma and finally facing N and Ghetsis.
  • A side story where the main character captures Meloetta.

BW2
  • Watching the playable character facing the remainders of Team Plasma as well as meeting the ones that turned good.
  • Capturing Reshiram/Zekrom like it happened in the games.
  • Facing Ghetsis and Kyurem the way it happened in-game.

It would also be nice to emphasise on how the region changed in those two years. This could be done by letting the character travel through the parts that changed the most.

VI will follow as soon as I finish the game! :p

Woo, some awesome ideas, Drohn. :) I think it makes sense to focus on the legendary Pokémon stories since that is where a lot of the differences in generations stem from. This would also fit in with the current Pokémon Origins, since the entire last episode is dedicated to Mewtwo. I think this would be most interesting in Gen 5 personally, especially since N is such a sympathetic character for a "villain".

Another interesting bit is your suggestion about Ilex Forest and Celebi. Since the anime is made in Japan, this would have a realistic chance of happening, and would just be super neat in general. On that note, it would also be awesome if this was used to talk about Silver being Geovanni's son, especially since Geovanni himself played such a large role and was expanded on so nicely in Origins.

I completely forget about the part of Silver and Giovanni. That would be a great story to explore!

A Generation II anime would also be a great chance to discover the mysteries of the Ruins of Alph and Unown.

When you think about it, 1st gen is Pokemon's origins, pretty much anything onward isn't. I have to say I'm not confident this will happen, but it would be pretty cool.

Since the Japanese title is literally "Pocket Monsters: The Origin", specials for different generations could have a different title after the colon, they wouldn't have to use the "Origin" part of the name. I simply called it Pokémon Origins in the title of this thread to make it clear I was talking about the new special and not the long-running TV show. :)

I've liked Origins, namely for bringing back some old but great and nostalgic songs and moments (I laughed so hard when seeing Red at the Safari Zone...at least, unlike me, he didn't had his box full :D) and I would like to see more of it, namely Brendam and May in S/R's outfits but with Emerald's plot. One character I would really love to see is Wally somewhat developed. Mr. Briney and Pecko are a must. The thing is, Origins was made (I think) to get the older fans aboard the Mega-Evolution stuff and if we are to get more of Origins we'll most likely also end up with some Mega-evolutions and that is really something I don't want. I was glad to see that Charizard's Mega-evolution only came in the last episode but that had "Pokémon X & Y" "written" all over it: "See, with Mega-evolution you can now catch Mewtwo more easily and you know what?, You'll be able to have both of these Pokémon in your Pokémon X & Y."
I guess having this as it is and the possibility of having more is better than nothing, but having a four episode special while that crappy anime with the dumb Ash and Co. still continues, it's a no no. Like I've said before, I want a more serious anime not just a taste of what would be if that came true while the producers still bet on a series aimed at children and always trying to bring newcomers while older fans get nothing.
