Does Pidgey from Triumphant have a place as a starter for any decks? I think it could work; it's sort of like a Bebe's Search but... not quite as good. I know Sableye is out there, but how about after that rotates? Will Pidgey ever be a useful starter?

I don't think so. You can only us it once, as it shuffles itself into the deck, and that is the MAJOR problem with this card. What do you do if you don't have something else benched? You lose the game/can't use the attack.

If you use Call Energy the turn before, then it could mayyybe work.
And he specified after Sableye and Spiritomb are rotated.

There are still better options than Pidgey to start with even after starters such as Sableye rotate. Smeargle UD will most likely be the most popular since it can copy a supporter in your opponent's hand.

Pidgey did win me a PR game, but Smeargle will always be the better choice in GS on.

Funny how people keep mentioning Spiritomb/Sableye/Luxray when the threadstarter did mention AFTER these existing cards are rotated.

I think it will find its way into some decks as a support card. Probably not something you want to start with, like Unown Q. If there's a renewed Call-For-Friends-esque Pokemon like Dunsparce or Pachirisu, searching Pidgey would allow you to search for your evolutions on your next turn. Possibly scenario I guess.
