Nope. You can't get the original DS anymore. They stopped production of the original DS because it is heavier and it did not possess the same things the DS lite does. For example the DS lite has a brighter screen and also the battery lasts a few hour longer than the original DS. The DS lite is also thinner and easier to handle.:)
 
I have the original DS and me and my freind find that the original DS is better quality because his cousin dropped her DS Lite and it broke and my friend has dropped his alot of time and still no breaking. And I mean ALOT.
 
I have the origonal and I dont really see the sence of spending $150 on something I already have...
Only thing is I broke one of the connecvteuing rings for the bscreen and I cant find the stylus, which they dont make anymore lol

same here lol . I've broken my screen dropped it, and it was fixed!...exept my L button
 
I have an original DS, and I find it better if you play a lot of GBA games because
-The game does not stick out
-It uses the same charger as GBA SP
-Harder to break

So i'm sticking to my original
 
The only thing wrong with my DS after dropping it is that half the screen is horibly calibrated and the stupid thing just won't calibrate >:[ I have honestly sat there for an hour trying to calibrate it and nothing happened >:[
 
I have the original, and it never breaks. I once dropped it on the road, and it works! The small thin ring that connects the screens is broken though. That is the only problem for those DS.
 
A lot of people favor the original DS over the Lite, if only for the size of their hands-- For people with fairly big hands, the Lite is difficult to handle.

If I'd bought an original before the Lite came out, you can bet I'd be sticking to it-- As has been said before: No reason to buy something you've already got!
 
I prefer the DS lite because it is a lot easier to see I saw the screen for the original DS in a store and it was not as good compared to the DS lite.:)
 
Seeing as the original DS had only a single level of brightness, it's hard not to appreciate the multiple brightness settings and clarity of the DS Lite's LCD.
 
I prefer the original for a bunch of reasons:
Looks cooler and more aerodynamic, and silver > white.
The stylus spot, you don't have this little hole where your fingers are.
Easy-to-use Power button, I only accidentally turned my DS off once.
The fact that the GBA game doesn't stick out.
My huge hands :O
Doesn't seem as breakable.
 
I have a lite, but I would prefer an original version, for many of the reasons Heavenly Spoon stated. It looks much cooler than a brick-like design, the GBA games don't stick out, power button is easier to use, it won't break as easily (handy with little brothers), and the electric blue is much cooler than the new blue design they have now. If I can pick up an original Electric Blue for a fair price, I'm taking it.
 
I have a lite. I been dropping it for a long time, or more like my babby cousin keeps playing with it. (and still not broken)
 
I have the original and a Lite. I have medium sized hands, but the screen saves my eyes on the Lite. I don't have to squint in broad daylight, just to see the screen. I heard another version of the DS is coming out; maybe third time's the charm.

yeah i heard the same thing too d master.but anyways i have both and i like the original one for cloning easier but i like the lite when its dark so i use it to see better.
