Hey guys I used to play a lot in the Diamond/Pearl/Plat days and I would like to play a bit more in the 5th gen.

What should I know that is different in the 5th Gen. I still have all my old pokes that are EV/IVed. Thanks a lot for any help

Hey, Muckster.

I have a few suggestion's for you...

- Look at Pokebeach's Banlist...see what Pokes are still banned or not banned anymore.
- Look at the previous Competitive battling Discussion of the Week threads.
- Pm VG Mods....I'm sure they'd love to help you out.

Also, If you want any help from me I'd be glad to just leave me a profile comment or a pm.

Well, Stealth Rock is still as prevalent as ever. Its very crucial in the demise of Dragonite and Volcarona, two large threats. Its still a staple move on all teams.

A couple of abilities got changed effects, but the only one worth noting is Storm Drain. Storm Drain now absorbs the Water-type attacks, and raises the users Sp.A by one level.

The Dream World was introduced in Pokemon Black and White, and it allowed some Pokemon to have access to three abilities, and nearly every Pokemon has an additional ability to what they had before. It gave players things like Drizzle Politoed, Drought Ninetales and Multiscale Dragonite (Multiscale is a new ability that reduces damage taken by 50% as long as the Pokemon's HP is full). Expect about 50% of your battles to feature some kind of weather, either Rain, Sand or Sun.

It depends - For metagame? Or ingame?

If in the metagame, Tyranitar and Politoed are very prevalent, and are used on all weather teams.

If ingame, farm Audinos to level up, it's literally the only good way to do it ingame (In order to battle one, run back and forth in front of some grass, and when the grass shakes, move into that patch of shaking grass. It's either a rare Pokemon or Audino).
