@ xxashxx: Except this is the 3DS, not a new iteration of the original DS.
Most estimates put the 3DS at $250 USD. Very few hopefuls put it as low as $200 USD, and some have it as high as $300 USD (though I believe these are actually for non-US areas that prefer to use USD).
As for the warning, this kind of warning is actually pretty common to all video game devices, and was blown way out of proportion with Nintendo's previous attempt at a 3D system, the Virtual Boy. The Virtual Boy, however, was an extremely rushed project forced to market early to buy time for the still-in-development Ultra 64 (which was later renamed the N64 many of us fondly remember).
Given the systems raw processing power, appealing gimmicks, and backwards compatibility with DS games it very well could cost upwards of $300 USD and still appeal to a wide market. That being said, I subscribe to the belief that if it is over $250 USD, it will drop to $250 USD in time for the Christmas shopping season of 2011. Nintendo is shrewd like that. Even if it introduces at a lower price point, it still might manage a price drop if Nintendo feels it needs said price drop to maintain its hold on the industry.
