Ruling New Fossils

If you play the fossils(example above), but do not find the Pokemon in the bottom 7 cards, are you supposed to discard the fossil or does it stay? I've been away for awhile, and didn't know that the fossils changed so drastically.

I believe you discard the fossil because it doesn't say to keep it in play.~Mark

 

[Sleeping Snorlax]

It is a Trainer Item. Trainer Items are discarded as soon as you use them, unless they specifically state otherwise.

Confirming what Sleeping Snorlax just said. If you don't find a Tirtouga you play it with no effect. It's a bit like Dusk Ball.
