Hey..mods I'm not sure if there's a Naruto TCG thread already..if so please delete and link me to it..thanks.

Anyway..Does anyone play this? How competitive is the game compared to pokemon? I know they have awesome playmats (Am getting a Gaara mat just because I love the anime/manga), but do they have anything resembling leagues or local tournaments?

I have 2 starter decks, the original Sauske deck and I Think the original Gaara deck (not sure if it's original or not, it's pre-shippuden and was advertised with a Kankuro deck alongside), and have a rulebook..but have no one to really play and would kind of like to learn. Also if anyone has the List for the Gaara starter deck that would be amazing, as my friend gave it to me and he mixed in the sideboard and main deck..so I have no idea what I should take out.

In terms of the Anime..I'm as far as the japanese Anime..but please don't post spoilers as others may not be as far as you.

I've read up til a little past the japanese anime in Manga..simply because I didn't like the wait.
Anyway..Discuss the above or anything else related to the Naruto TCG/Anime/Manga.

RE: Naruto TCG Thread

I used to collect Naruto TCG cards. I actually still have a lot of them. I never played competitively, though. Posting on their forum kind of turned me away from the game. There were far too many spammers and people being just plain rude to one another. The mods never seemed to ban any trolls or delete any spam. When people started spamming up a thread of mine I complained and got massively flamed by a group of trolls, then a mod locked it and I was told I deserved being insulted and harassed because by complaining I was "asking for it." Even before that, most of the deck help I saw was just people being told they needed to scrap their whole decks and only play what was meta.

Not sure if that's how things still are there but if that's the way people who play the Naruto TCG treat others I'd much rather stick to Pokémon, no matter how fun Naruto may have been.

RE: Naruto TCG Thread

Since this is another TCG, it belongs in the Entertainment & Video Games forum.

^ Thanks..I wasn't sure since it wasn't TV/game related. Thanks

For the sake of discussion, you should consider opening it up to all things Naruto.

I was big time obsessed with Naruto not long ago, but as someone with ever changing interests, that obsession has died down a little. My boyfriend still keeps me up to date with what's happening in the manga and anime, but I don't read or watch it for myself.

Though my obsession with the actual show died down I'm still rather obsessed with a single character, namely Rock Lee. He's remained my favorite animated character for a long time. My screen name actually originates from the effect of the first Rock Lee TCG card I ever pulled: Lotus of the Leaf.

Don't even remind me of Naruto, though it would've been nice If Viz Media had the license to One Piece instead of 4Kids that way One Piece would've been big and Naruto wouldn't be. Naruto had a chance to become as big as DBZ but it failed, hard and miserably.

Given the fact that One Piece is more popular than Naruto in Japan, that says alot about how the American Anime Community is lagging behind on what's big though Bleach is pretty good infact even better than Naruto in alot of ways.

Haven't been catching up since the end of the invasion of Pain. I was sick of all the dang fillers, none of which were of any interest. I'll just watch them later and skip to the main storyline.

Well compared to One Piece and Bleach, Naruto has the most fillers out of the Shonen Big Three and since the Naruto Anime would've been cancelled by now due to low ratings Japan is forced to continue it through. The Manga is just as If not as worse than the Anime series itself, you can clearly tell that they aren't even trying with Naruto anymore.

I've stopped keeping track of Naruto since it was focused more on Sasuke being the Mary Sue of the franchise itself. There's just so many inconsistencies with the Naruto franchise itself that it's already a shadow of it's former self. I've heard Kishimoto is trying to correct his mistakes on the Naruto manga itself but he took too much time to respond especially to his fans from America and the damage has already been done.

I'd much rather watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood than Naruto, much better plot, storyline, characters, and alot of the stuff in it is very consistent especially how it sort of pays an homage to the travesties of what occurred during World War II, the Nazi Regime, and how Alchemy is an ultimate sin against God. There's just so much you can relate to with FMA it's not even funny.

The anime is really bad for naruto but I enjoy reading the manga as it is at a peak in the storyline/arc

Tell me about it, at least DBZ got fillers done right. Rather than distracting too much from the main plot and feeling out of place, it actually fleshed out the story and world, gave the minor characters more to actually do, and added a lot of character moments.

It isn't until you compare Dragonball Z with Dragonball Kai regarding how much "filler" contributes to the quality of the Anime series. One of the reasons that the filler works so well in that series is that it's mostly dispersed throughout the main story arcs instead of being placed between said arcs in huge chunks. Perhaps that's what sets it apart from some other series?

Bleach on the other hand has somewhat got their fillers done right but you can tell automatically that it feels out of place with the manga storyline especially the current filler arc. Yu Yu Hakusho which Bleach is ripped off from hardly has any Filler Arcs and it was made around the same time DBZ was still airing and big in Japan back in the early 90's.

I enjoy the manga more so then the anime. Despite it inconsistencies, I find it pretty amusing and keeps me hooked on the next chapter. I don't read/watch it for mental stimulation or anything of that matter. I usually buy the newest Japanese manga volume to practice reading in Japanese.

I find the characters interesting more so then anything else. I despise One Piece and I feel Bleach should of ended months ago. Naruto keeps up with the overall theme and follows (somewhat) the storyline it set out. Again, this is merely my own thoughts of which I haven't put too much thought into it.

I'd have to say my favorite characters to date is either Danzo, Konan, Darui, or Zabuza.

So I take it you like Naruto and Sasuke then? I'll admit they are arguably the worst protagonists of any Anime/Manga franchise I've ever watched and read. It's a huge shame how much potential those characters had that was left unfullfilled only to be nerfed by plot-no-jutsu and power hax that doesn't have a very good explanation about it.

Sakura is about as useless as Meg Griffin on Family Guy, she's just there to be there that's all there is to it. She has one of the worst character developments in the Naruto series and I've always disliked the way she'd beat up Naruto at times because of the stupid overly used Japanese Anime Cliche where Girls beat up Boys alot. It's just like Fanservice it gets old really fast.

About Bleach, the reason why it didn't end after Aizen despite the whole franchise being a major rip-off of
Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ, and Rouruni Kenshin is because the story needed to explain more about Ichigo's family tree, why he was able to obtain his own Shinigami powers (go ahead use Rukia as an excuse I suppose) and how his father passed on those genes to him especially with the possibility of his mother being an Arrancar or Vizard which explains Ichigo's Hollow forms and such. I'm still not getting how the Fullbring fiasco is leading up to it since it just leaves more questions than answers.

Also about One Piece, what is it about it that you despise? Is it because of the 4Kids dub before FUNimation got the rights to it? The Japanese Sub is much better anyway though I'll admit that I'm kinda starting to lose interest in One Piece after the Whitebeard vs. Navy Arc where it had alot of action and fighting in it. Where the Manga is it's okay I guess, it's a shame America doesn't understand how much better One Piece is compared to Naruto where One Piece got the shaft at Hawaii-Kon especially at other Anime Conventions as well.

Naruto just needs to die in a ditch, Kishi ruined a series that had great potential but fails miserably. The fillers and Part 2 was what ruined it, not to mention Sasuke and the overuse of the Sharingan. That doujutsu was so overused in Part 2 it's not even funny, way to go Kishimoto make other Doujutsu's and other Jutsu less relevant. I can't stand the original main cast anymore to the point where the Naruto series lacks the nostalgic value it once had, for shame...

I will admit i hated the Naruto fillers but I think everything that happened after the fillers is the best parts of Naruto and the point of overuse of the sharingan was so he could get Itachi's eternal sharingan and what else do you expect it is sasuke after all he thinks he has to use so much power for everything but if he didn't use his sharingan that much he would have died in the fight with danzo the only thing that is better about the first part of Naruto Shippuden is the fight with pain because well that was the best fight that has ever happened so far in the series

I Loved the Pain fight, and even just the entire Huge Battle with everyone else in the village Besides Naruto's one on 6 battle

yea that was beast too especially when kakashi fought pain and when konohamaru fought that one pain guy and used the rasengan

Oh yeah. I loved when Konohamru used rasengan! I was like "oh my god dude don't get yourself killed" but when he actually hurt that pain I was like Awesome!

For a second i though konohamaru was going to die during that episode and when kakashi died i thought that was permanant and was kind of upset by that

Pain Fight the best part in the series? Part 1 was so much better than Part 2 (Shippuuden) especially when Naruto vs. Sasuke at VoTE and Third Hokage vs. Orochimaru were the best battles of the series IMO. Rock Lee vs. Gaara at the Chunin Exams was really good too, I guess you could say the same thing for Might Guy's 2nd fight against Kisame in Part 2.

The Pain fight was just a very bad rip-off of when Goku went Super Saiyan in DBZ on Namek after Frieza killed Krillin yet the Pain fight in similiarity was done very poorly in terms of quality and the Anime counterpart of that battle was much worse.

Sasuke is a jerk that thinks the whole series revolves around
him when the title of the series isn't even named Sasuke, it's Naruto. Masashi Kishimoto is such a disgrace to the Anime/Manga Industry, heck Tite Kubo and Eiichiro Oda are so much better with Bleach and One Piece.
