My New Team [OU]

Hello guys, once again I am here with a NEW team! I just made it out of complete confusion, and asking some people on Facebook for move sets and help with getting some of these Pokemon (Camerupt just learn a move I want you to already!) and I know want to ask some other peoples about it. So recommend items, moves, etc! NOTE: I don't do IV's... I just don't understand them. :p

First off we have Jolteon! This is my Jolteon that knows Shadow Ball, something I got from a friend. This Jolteon's move set isn't official though. I can change it up a bit, even though it IS pretty okay. He is a Volt Absorb Pokemon, I know it has another ability, I just always get stuck against an electric type that destroys me without a Volt Absorb Pokemon

Jolteon (M) @ King's Rock
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Pin Missile
- Thunder Bolt
- Shadow Ball
- Discharge

Next is the 3rd generation lava-camel, Camerupt! Okay this Pokemon instantly made my team when I found out it can (Some how) learn Solar Beam, this is great because it is four times weak to Water, being Fire/Ground. (Arceus wasn't kind to him) And I think it works well with the team seeing as it is Magma Armor, so things with freeze chances can't freeze him when he is setting up a final blow.

Camerupt @ Life Orb
Ability: Magma Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Eruption
- Amnesia
- Solar Beam

Cherrim is my favorite NU Pokemon, it's my favorite in general, and it works well with this frail team. She's Specially Defensive and can help the next Pokemon in line if it faints. And she is a great set-up pokemon for a Camerupt with a Solar Beam, because both of those pokemon are best with Sunny Day up.

Cherrim (F) @ Big Root
Ability: Flower Gift
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Modest Nature
- Leech Seed
- Sunny Day
- Giga Drain
- Grass Knot

And Swellow is my Baton Pass Pokemon. It is a great start-up for Cherrim, and/or Camerupt. It adds bonus speed, and does a fair amount of damage, any electric type Pokemon would be forced out through Whirlwind. So it works great to support the Mega Pokemon in double battles. I made this Pokemon from off the usual meta game, having be a support pokemon instead of an over-powered power house (repetitive things are repetitive.)

Swellow @ No Item (What's the best item for this? o_O)
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Agility
- Brave Bird
- Baton Pass
- Whirlwind

Then we have this fella, Luxray. Luxray is one of my most favorite power houses, and according to Pokemon Showdown, it's sadly in NU *single tear.* It's in this team because the team needed a fast power house. This would be a Pokemon I consider replacing with another powerful Pokemon because I have two Pokemon of the Electric typing.

Luxray @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Rivalry
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Facade
- Iron Tail
- Fire Fang
- Toxic

And last, but certainly not least, my Mega Pokemon, Blastoise! Blastoise is a great mega evolution in my opinion, destructive move pool, great stat boosts upon Mega Evolving, and fairly tanky. It fits great with the team because it can be used to kill, finish them (Fatality) off, or just completely wreck the enemy team like a ball, a wrecking ball! (Sorry for that I just wanted to end on a silly-type of note!)

Blastoise @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Dragon Pulse
- Protect
- Hydro Cannon

Any help is greatly appreciated! (Even the bad stuff! Learn from your mistakes, right?!)

RE: My New Team! (OU)

IMHO about Jolteon :

Jolteon (M) @ King's Rock unreliable item Jolteon must have a boosting item such as life orb or choice specs to be effective offensively
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Pin Missile even with 5 hits pin missile on jolteon is too weak to be considered
- Thunder without rain support thunderbolt is a better choice for better accuracy and you have a sunny day user on your team so it is even worse for him
- Shadow Ball
- Discharge

Jolteon should always use hidden power ice in other to deal with ground and dragons that counter it otherwise
Its really not good in its physical stat so whatever you do don't use physical moves specially not unreliable moves like pin missile

I actually agree about the Pin Missile, I just had that there because people on FaceBook told me it was good, I didn't plan on keeping it, I just needed another move, and it's Hidden Power is Ghost so I didn't think I'd be able to put Hidden Power on it. And as for Thunder, that was a major Typo, it was supposed to be Thunder Bolt, thank you for pointing that out! :)

There are plenty of guides online to help you out. Or you could just be like all the cool kids and play on showdown.
First off we have Jolteon! This is my Jolteon that knows Shadow Ball, something I got from a friend. This Jolteon's move set isn't official though. I can change it up a bit, even though it IS pretty okay. As scattered mind said, Pin Missile and King's Rock are all pretty bad on Jolteon and HP Ice is pretty much required due to Jolteon's poor movepool. Hasty is also pretty subpar. You should replace it with another one that has HP Ice, optimal IV's, and a Timid nature. I know you got one with Shadow Ball from a friend, but any Jolteon can learn Shadow Ball from the TM. Jolteon isn't bad per se (although I would argue that it is bad without HP Ice and Timid), but it's outclassed as a fast special attacking Electric type by Thundurus and Mega Manectric and as a fast revenge killer by Deoxys-S. If you insist on using a subpar set on a subpar Pokemon, then you should use Volt Switch and Signal Beam over Pin Missile and Discharge and either Choice Specs or a Life Orb.

Solar Beam isn't noteworthy at all because all fire types learn it. Magma Armor is also nothing to write home about because Freezes are really rare. Solid rock, is a much better ability, especially for a Pokemon with a 4x weakness to Water and a 2x weakness to Ground. However, these weaknesses are exactly why you shouldn't use Camerupt. Not only that, but Camerupt's stats are really mediocre. It's really slow and really frail, even with Solid Rock. There are so many better Fire types viable in OU out there, such as Heatran, Mega Charizard X and Y, Infernape, Talonflame, Volcarona, and Rotom-Heat. Even with Baton Pass, its still not that fast, its attacking stats just aren't that high, and is pretty easy to kill with priority. It's NU for a reason.

Again, it's NU for a reason. Cherrim's stats are worse than Camerupt. Even Phione has better stats than Cherrim and both of which are even bad in NU. The only half decent thing about it is Flower Gift. Unfortunately, this boost isn't enough to justify ever using it and sun will wear off after a few turns. You're better off using a better Grass type like Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, Breloom, Chesnaught, or Celebi.

- Whirlwind
I don't know why you mentioned double battles because you have this team listed as OU and you don't run any doubles sets. Flame/Toxic Orb would be the best item because of Guts if Swellow were worth using, but it isn't. Again, it's NU for a reason. The only thing it has going at it is pretty good speed. It's really frail and has a sucky offensive stats. Guts makes up for this somewhat, but Talonflame, Mega Pinsir, and Staraptor are still much better Flying type attackers. Whirlwind is also a bad idea on such a frail Pokemon because it has negative priority, meaning it will always go last unless used against a slower user of Whirlwind/Roar/Dragon Tail or Trick Room. Scolipede is also a useful replacement because it's arguably the best Baton Passer. Not only can it actually take a hit and hit back, but it has Speed Boost, Swords Dance, and Iron Defense meaning you can get between +1 and +3 stat boosts per turn.

- Facade
- Iron Tail
- Fire Fang
- Toxic
I don't understand why you have Facade on this set and not Wild Charge. Also Rivalry is Luxray's worst ability. Guts would be the best because instead of a burn making you useless, it would actually make it stronger. Not only that, but it would make Facade actually useful. A Flame/Toxic Orb would be the most useful item for Luxray if it were worth using, but like all the other NU Pokemon on your team; it isn't. Luxray is the least terrible of the NU Pokemon on your team, but it still isn't worth using. It is neither fast enough nor bulky enough to make good use of its solid Attack stat and alright Special Attack stat. Not only this, but his movepool is subpar. It doesn't get enough hard hitting physical attacks to justify using it over something else after being baton passed a speed boost, even with a Guts boost. He's basically a slower Electivire who also isn't viable in OU. The only viable physical Electric type in OU is Thundurus, but there are plenty of other useful physical attackers of other types that you could replace Luxray with.

First rule of competitive battling: never use a move that requires a recharge. Giving your opponent a free turn to KO you or set up stat boosts is never a good idea. Scald or Hydro Pump should be used instead. Why do you have Protect when you have no residual recovery (unless the occasional rain is up, but this team has Sunny Day)? Rapid Spin should be used instead to remove hazards. Dark Pulse should be used over Dragon Pulse to hit Ghost types that want to block Rapid Spin such as Aegislash. For the fourth move, the best option, IMO would be Ice Beam for Dragon and Grass types, but Aura Sphere is useful for Ferrothorn. Dragon Pulse generally shouldn't be used because the only Dragon types you will see in OU (besides the rare Hydreigon) are 4x weak to Ice or LAti@s who are hit by Dark Pulse. Blastoise is a good Pokemon, but there are better Pokemon to use your Mega slot on and Blastoise can generally be easily replaced. Excadrill is another good Rapid Spinner and other good bulky Water types include Rotom-W, (Mega or regular) Gyarados, Azumarill, Manaphy, Quagsire, and Vaporeon.

Normally I would suggest specific replacements for members of a team, but if I were to do that I would rebuild at least 2/3 of your entire team, if not all of it. Since 2/3 of your team is NU (and half of your team is viable in NU) you may want to just replace Jolteon and Blastoise and make an NU team.
