My Furious Fists Pre-Release Experience

Well I guess my thread got deleted...

Like I said in that thread.

1st game I won cause I got Landorus powered up and KOed all his Pokemon.
I pulled a Jynx as well which saved the Landorus from a KO.

2nd game I won as well, pretty much the same way.
Now this was really the "first" game of the Masters, due to a computer error making the TO start the tourney over.
Like I said this guy is always very disorganized for doing so many tournaments.

3rd game I won cause the guy I was supposed to play quit to play some group card game similar to The Great Dalmutti.

4th game I sat down & the guy just said "you win" and left to grab his other 2 packs.

I did win a raffle for a set of Professor card sleeves.

Didn't really pull anything that great from the packs, and didn't feel like giving the TO any more $.
He was doing a 3 packs for $10 deal.

Which I always kinda suspect he's more into the $ than the card game itself.
Some other people at the pre-release were also not happy with the way things turned out.
They mentioned that if you asked him questions about the game, he didn't seem to care.

He also lets us use the Promo card in the decks we build for the pre-release.
Which I am not certain if that's legal or not.

Here's what I pulled, if anybodies interested:

Aurorus
Beartic (Holo with Water pattern)
Clawtizer (Holo with Water pattern)
2 Blaziken
Magmortar
Thundurus
Jynx
Tyrantrum
Landorus

Clefable (Holo with Fairy pattern)
Gothorita (Holo with Psychic pattern)
Magmar (Holo with Fire pattern)
Cubchoo (Holo with Water pattern)
Trapinch (Holo with Fighting pattern)
Herbal Energy (Holo with Energy pattern)

2 Korrina
3 Sparkling Robe
2 Training Center
2 Jaw Fossil
Sail Fossil
2 Full Heal

This event was at Dragons Lair in Austin, TX.

Both players I played were playing with that Fighting Stadium.
Of course they failed to read that it only works against EX Pokemon....

RE: My Furious Fists Pre-Release Experience

Sorry to hear that the PR wasn't as expected. Lately I've noticed that pull rates aren't as good, but you seem to have some of what people will be wanting to use soon. Technically the promos shouldn't be used, and I'm wondering who in their right mind might give that TO their TO-ship. If you ever have the time or resources, you should try to come up to NRH for one of our PRs, there's generally a pretty substantial crowd, but there have been no real problems that I've ever heard about.

RE: My Furious Fists Pre-Release Experience

Yah, the promo being used is definitely a no-no. And also, I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to sell packs at retail at a pre-release either.

RE: My Furious Fists Pre-Release Experience

Thanks for the replies.
Might have to discuss this with our League Orginizer.

The League Orginizer runs our monthly League Challenge tournament as well as an end of month Tournament.

Yet when it comes to "big" events they seem to have to get this guy to come from San Antonio to do them.
Of course if it's around Super Bowl time he is always in a big rush to finish the tournament so he can watch that.
Even though 99% of them end way before kickoff time.

I don't really care what I got, since I mostly play for fun anyways.
Only one of my decks has EX cards in it, and that might get retired soon.

Yeah, you should tell someone about that.

As for the guy rushing during Super Bowl-day events.... maybe he hosts a SB party, in which case he definitely needs to rush home and get everything prepped for his guests.

RE: My Furious Fists Pre-Release Experience

If the sell date has not yet occurred, tournament organizers are not allowed to sell packs. All they can do is run Prerelease events. Also confirming that using the promo card in your deck for the Prerelease is against the rules.

RE: My Furious Fists Pre-Release Experience

Booster Drafts are fine, but straight selling them isn't supposed to be done.
