Ruling Multi Energy

ok this baffles me.
Multi Energy, as we all know provides every type of energy, but only one at a time.
it also says "Multi Energy provides * Energy when attached to a Pokemon that already has Special Energy cards attached to it."
the word "Already" suggests that if Multi Energy is attached before... say... a Special Darkness Energy, that effect of providing all energy still works.
Am I correct or no?

No, once another special energy gets slapped onto the Multi recipient, they lose their rainbow energy effect.

Correct. The condition on Multi Energy is a continuous check, not a one-time check at the moment you attach it. As soon as you attach another Special Energy card, the check fails and Multi Energy loses its multi-ness.

Here you go, then. I don't make up rulings on here.

As I already stated, the check is continuous. At any given instant during the game, Multi Energy is querying the game state -- "Does this Pokemon already have a Special Energy attached?" As soon as you attach that second Special Energy, the answer to that question becomes "yes" and Multi stops providing all colors.

You can debate it if you want, but it won't do any good.

This was the ruling regarding Multi Energy since they were first released.
