There hasn't been a lot of discussion about it except for around the time of the changeover, but the EN TCG finally shifting to silver borders is critical for the artwork of many of these cards, as the yellow colors would either actively clash with their color profiles.

Honestly the switch to gray borders was such a great decision I’m still so happy about it.

I believe rarity is just named Ace Spec ? we see but I think so
