Ruling Masquerain's "Intimidating Pattern"

Masquerain has this super cool power "Intimidating Pattern": "As long as Masquerain is your Active Pokemon, any damage done by an opponent's attack is reduced by 20"

Arcanine has "Overrun": "Does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon." This also comes with a damage value of 40 for the Defending Pokemon.

Now... If my active pokemon is Masquerain and my opponent's active Pokemon is Arcanine and he uses Overrun to try and instill damage on both Masquerain and one of my benched Pokemon, would damage be reduced by 20 for BOTH the benched Pokemon and Masquerain, so that the only Pokemon taking damage would be Masquerain for 20?

Orr... does Masquerain's power only reduce TOTAL damage dealt by 20, in this case meaning I can chose which Pokemon to reduce the damage from?

This is an ongoing argument. Please help![/align]

This is what happens. It doesn't specify whether or not it's the Defending Pokemon or not; therefore it applies to any and all damage they do. Your Active Pokemon takes 20 damage (plus Weakness value, remember), and the attack also deals 0 to 1 Benched Pokemon.
