The Illustration Rare version of Magikarp was revealed from the upcoming Japanese set SV1a Triplet Beat, which releases on March 10th. Cards from this set will most likely become part of our Paldea Evolved releasing at the end of June.
Magikarp – Water – HP30
Basic Pokemon
[W] Skilled Jump: 10+ damage. Flip 2 coins. If both are heads, this attack does 20 more damage.
Weakness: Lightning (x2)

That's some pretty extra art. Lots of things and stuff happening at once. But I just kind of find it ugly and prefer the normal art to this over-clustered mess.

Seems suboptimal. Why not group SV + SV1a together into a set, rather than SV1a + SV2?

we're getting SV1s and SV1v + the starter decks, doing those 2 PLUS SV1a would've been too much. our SV2 will be SV1a + SV2c and SV2s i'm assuming (clay burst and snow hazard)

I wonder whether this will be the new $300 card.
I wouldn't buy it for a lot of money, but would be very happy about pulling.

It won’t. It’s an Art Rare so it will be easier to pull than current alt arts. More akin to a Trainer Gallery card.
