Ruling Lost World Questions

Hello, I am fairly new to the new Pokemon card, and I have some questions about Lost World. Can you put Pokemon in the lost zone when the lost zone isn't there? Do Pokemon automatically go to the lost zone if the lost world card is in play, assuming they are knocked out or discarded? If the Pokemon is a stage 2 pokemon and Gengar prime knocks it out, does that Pokemon and all of its previous evolutions go to the lost zone or just the stage 2 Pokemon? If the lost world card is removed while there are cards in the list zone, do those cards stay in the lost zone or are they removed? I would highly appreciate it if these questions were answered, thank you.

In the future, please add some sort of reference of the card in question.
The lost zone and the stadium Lost World are two different things. While lost world isn't in play, the lost zone is always there no matter what. Lost World, the stadium, does not send anything into the lost zone. It's simply a stadium that allows a player to declare themselves the winner if their opponent has six or more Pokemon in the lost zone. The only way a Pokemon can go to the lost zone is if an attack or poke body/power sends them there. If gengar prime knocks out a stage two, all the stages, including the cards attached to then, go into the lost zone. Once a card is placed in the lost zone, there is no way to get them back. They must stay there for the remainder of the match. I hope this helps.

I'll answer each question individually, so I probably am covering much of what Snorlax said already.
Can you put Pokemon in the lost zone when the lost zone isn't there?
Provided you have an effect that can do so, yes. Technically, the Lost Zone is always there, in the sense that the discard pile is always there. It just has 0 cards at the start of the match.
Do Pokemon automatically go to the lost zone if the lost world card is in play, assuming they are knocked out or discarded?
No, because the Stadium card "Lost World" does not have any such effect - it just lets you declare a win condition if you meet its criterion. A card is only sent to the Lost Zone if an effect permits it.
If the Pokemon is a stage 2 pokemon and Gengar prime knocks it out, does that Pokemon and all of its previous evolutions go to the lost zone or just the stage 2 Pokemon?
Since all Pokemon cards underneath a Pokemon are treated as being part of that single Pokemon, any pre-evolutions under it will go to the Lost Zone if Gengar Prime is Active when the other Pokemon is Knocked Out. (This excludes cards like Unown Q MD's QUICK effect, since when attached they are not treated as a Pokemon.)
If the lost world card is removed while there are cards in the list zone, do those cards stay in the lost zone or are they removed?
They stay in the Lost Zone until the game is over. The Lost World stadium card has no effect other than declaring a win condition. (Read the Lost World Stadium card for yourself - it only has one effect.)
