Can anyone give me a link to the rules on Foreign cards?

I will just ask here too.

For my Salamence Deck, I plan to use the Typhlosion from the next set; HG/SS.

I have the option to get that card now but in Jap. (obviously)

What are the rules on Jap cards?

Will I be allowed to use it in tournaments? ECT.

1/10 of your deck (6 cards) may be foreign cards for just a little longer. However you need a translation of some sort with you.

Sorry, but the cut off for being able to use up to 6 Japanese cards in your deck is Supreme Victors.

so you may use up to 6 Japanese Cards in your deck and they must be from DP-SV.
Remember you need translation for all Japanese Cards.

So if you trade for hg/ss Typhlosion I can tell you that you will never be able to play it in a tournament.

This isnt correct. Your cards can be anywhere from DP-PA not DP-SV. And you will be able to play your Typhlosion once HGSS comes out in english.

i am just going to edit what infinity said

Sorry, but the cut off for being able to use up to 6 Japanese cards in your deck is platinum arceus.

So if you trade for hg/ss Typhlosion I can tell you that you will never be able to play it in a tournament untill the set come out

So basically, I can use up to 6 jap cards IF I have translations and IF that set is also out in America?

Code:
15.9. Japanese Cards
Players are permitted to use Japanese cards at Premier Events for the 2009–2010 tournament
season. All rules regarding the use of foreign‐language cards, as outlined in Section 15.8., must
be adhered to. Players will not be permitted to use Japanese cards for Premier Events starting
with the 2010–2011 tournament season.
If a player has a single copy of a Japanese card in his or her deck and a local‐language reference
card, that player should be encouraged, but not required, to replace the Japanese card with the
local‐language reference card.
Players from Japan are exempt from these restrictions for the Pokémon TCG World
Championships and the Last Chance Qualifier.

Yes, sorry, Its is up to Arceus, I heard from both my League Leader it was SV.
>.> Curse them.
Heres the Rule on Japanese Cards btw.

Okay...

I have the option to trade MY FLygon Lv X for a Typhlosion Great. I need it for my saly deck.

I dont want to do that if the card can never be used. But since it seems like I can, I suppose I will.

You can't use anything in hg/ss so I wouldnt do it.
Only trade for collection purposes I suppose.

and btw heres why I messed up on the dp-sv rule

I thought I should add that basic energy cards do not count towards your total of 6. You may use any language basic energy from any set, and you will still have your 6 foriegn slots left.

After thoroughly reading section 15, it does not specifically say that basic energy cards are exempt from the Japanese card limit. I would therefore rule that Japanese energy cards do count towards the limit.

So how long can we use foreign cards for? It says "Players will not be permitted to use Japanese cards for Premier Events starting with the 2010–2011 tournament season." When does this season start, after worlds?

The 2010-2011 season will start after Worlds is over. After that, it is local language only.
