Hey guys! I would like a good substitute for Shaymin UL, if there is one. I was hopeing if I could get one Shaymin I could get one Shaymin, I could add another card as good substitute. Please LMK if there is one. Thanks guys!

yea, as far as I can see, out of all the energy moving t/s/s and pokemon, besides shaymin, your next best bet is energy switch... The only other pokemon that can move energies are Raichu Prime (move {l} to himself), Meganium Prime (move around {g} energy only), Klinklang from BW (move {m} energy only), MIsmagius from UL (moves one {p} energy per turn), Blastoise from UL (move {w} energy around only)... I think those are the only ability/power energy movers we have atm.

a friend of mine wanted to run a zekrom deck, but had no pachis or shaymins, and no money to buy them

i suggested electrode prime. sure it cuts out on the chance at a t1 setup, but with research records it could work. she had to leave before we could test though, so im not exactly sure if it would work

you can always try it though

No. ZPS requires shaymin and pachi to work. Other alternatives slow the deck down to nearly being unplayable. Either build the deck properly, or build something else.

Just to clarify, Blastoise can only move {w} energy from a benched pokemon to an active pokemon.

But yeah, that's all from a poke-power/body or ability. There are some attacks that do it, but zero is right, you need pachi/shay for the deck to run well. As long as you aren't playing any official tournaments just proxy it, I doubt anybody would care. It's a rare, but it's still surprisingly common.

ZPS has just enough speed to get into the metagame. I don't see a stage one bench-sitter working for Zekrom, let alone stage-two, really. =/

You could just run one Shaymin a few Energy Switches, and make sure to have enough recovery cards to get your lone Shaymin back.

Alright thanks guys! I have Pachis but 1 Shaymin.

Glaceon. I got it from you. :)

I think the real question here is how in the world has this thread gotten 10 responses? Clearly there isn't a replacement - that was pretty much clear after the first post.

Shaymins are 12-14 dollars and you only need 2 - not 3 if that's why you were asking. Without those two though, the deck won't work. You could maybe get away with one and some Seekers, but the second you open with it or it's prized, you might as well scoop up your cards. The whole idea of ZPS is to go off T1 - if you don't play cards to do that, the deck won't win anything.

Just be thankful Shaymin's aren't as expensive as Yanmega Prime whose price tag is
the equivalent of a full tank of gas nowadays. Nobody should have to pay full price for gas,
why Yanmega as well?

^^^ Yeah, the thing is, I have 5 Yanmega Prime. Now no Shaymin. Kinda sad right?

You might try Energy Switch. I suppose if you didn't have Shaymin you could run 4 Energy Switch and still be okay.

You most likely got your Yanmega's before Canadian Nationals this year when
the price was down on it yet Shaymin is like a $15-20 card isn't it?

This. Just proxy it. There isn't really a viable replacement to shaymin.

Card slinger J. I got them for a beast deal a couple days ago.

pokemonjoe. I don't get it.

What is there not to get? There is no viable replacement to shaymin. Just proxy it. I'm reinforcing what celebi said.
v that's a very good point. Just trade yanmega for all the shaymins you need. Heck, just trade cards to get the shaymin. You don't have to buy them

Um, you have 5 yanmega primes' and say you don't have money for shaymin?? Trade a yanmega for one or sell a yanmega and then buy shaymin. You only need one so $15-$20 shouldn't be hard to come by
