should i use electivire in my metanite deck? it works at times but it just doesnt seem like a good tech.

I agree because 3 Stage 2 line in a deck will slow it down, so choose either one but once after the Worlds 2007, both of this deck will count as unlimited deck...
Anyway, if you want to use the deck for now, then I suggest you to try Dragonvire..

Oh, before you go of making any Changes...Do this...

Play Electabuzz d to draw from the Deck, but make sure you have Elekid too. Otherwise play 4-2-3[4] Drag, and 3-3-3 Eletrivire.
