I have a DUMB question

Flip boy

I need to know what are the srets that they started the "EX" thingy??? Are they the sets listed in the "Set card scans" on the home page. ???

pm me plesae

I think it was either EX Ruby and Sapphire, or EX Sandstorm.
It isn't on the set card scans.

Ruby/Sapphire.  That's where they had all those crappy basic EX's that weren't even worth .000000000000000001 cents.  = bad.

Edit: Sorry, Whicker already said R/S.

Arcanine out.

While we're on the subject of ruby/saphire, was there any reason why none of the exs were actually IN the ruby/saphire games? Or were they just being random?

Bacon-boy, that question is probably impossible to answer. We don't know what the creators were doing with EX: R/S and seeing as none of the pokemon-ex existed in the R/S games i'd most likely assume it's random.

I doubt it was completely random. All the exs in R/S were Haymaker basics from the early days.

Hi - I'm kind of new to this game (six/seven months) and up until this point I've only played in unlimited formats/tourneys.  I have a couple of questions about modified format:

1. I have heard that if a card is a verbatim reprint (like Multi Energy or Rare Candy) that all copies are still modified legal (i.e. EX: Sandstorm Rare Candy can still be included in a DX-Modified deck).  Is this true?

2. And what about energy?  I assume that basic energy may be used from any set; what about special energy?  What is still modified legal and what is not?

Thanks!

Just to clarify...

Yes, and play them according to the text on the most recent reprint.

2. And what about energy? I assume that basic energy may be used from any set; what about special energy? What is still modified legal and what is not?Basic is always legal. Special energy, treat it like any other card - if it has been reprinted, you may play it, if not, no.

does this mean EM rare candy can be played in DS on? (i think it will be DS on next year)
Next years format until Worlds 2007 is DX-on, so EM Rare Candy is legal anyway.
