How to get a lot of draw power?

Some of you guys will remember my last thread: how to get energies out, after rosen is gone?

Well, a lot of you guys said to have a lot of draw power. How?

I know PONT, Uxies, Cynthia. What do i want to know is how many of those will you have in a deck.

I use mostly 1 lucky egg and 3 Cynthia. I don t use uxie because it takes space. I draw more cards with cynthia than PONT.

2-1 Uxie is a staple. Then you only use cynthias after a KO.
You can also try out 4 unown R with pokemon rescue.

PONT is more consistent than Cynthia's, as Cynthia's is situational.

Cyrus's Conspiracy gets you a Supporter, a basic Energy and a Team Galactic Trainer. You can tech in Crobat Gs + PokeTurn that way, so you can have a mini-SP engine.

Ninetales for Fire Decks, with her Roast Reveal.

Supporter Draw Power: POV (Prof Oak's Vis), PONT, etc etc...

2-1 Uxie + 2-2 Banette PT

Discard a lot of cards from your hand with Temper Tantraum, then Set-up for a lot of cards.

Why is nobody using Lucky Egg? it can t get power sprayed. It can be take out with Department store girl.

DragonClyne725, imagine you are playing donphan. Are you really going to use a banette just to set up? Unless you are playing shuppet (not anymore because the plus power new rules). Even with this, I will not do it.

Late game, Lucky Egg does not help. I've play-tested it before and the average number of cards I've been able to draw was 1, and that's a generous number. Your active Pokemon would have to be KO'd, so what if they just snipe over your active?

And Department Store Girl wastes a Supporter space, unless you're running more than 1 kind of Pokemon Tool. PONT refreshes your hand and gets you a higher possibility of things to do. Uxie + PONT = your opponent rolling his/her eyes.

And yah, Banette PL + Uxie draw isn't really doable...unless Banette PL's part of your strategy...

What about Lucky egg + Cynthia? That is even more. You usually use lucky egg in the beginning. I draw more than 3 or 4 and I attach it to my preparing pokemon.
Still, it depends on the deck you are using.

People do not use Lucky Egg because it takes the place of the Oh-so-important Expert belt on your pokemon. Your strat would theoretically work, but only AFTER a pokemon is KO'd. After that happens, you'll have a MAD RUSH to get an attacker out because there's a 90% chance your opponent will already have an attacker. Be proactive and get some drawing before the MAD RUSH will start. Also, WHY WOULD YOU NOT USE UXIE?! If your deck is so strept for bench spots, you should cut down ASAP. 1-2 bench spots should be do-able. Don't give me any "I use Lucky Egg over Uxie because I don't use Belt". That would be fine, but UXie is searchable and gets out of clutch situations ON YOUR TURN. Expert Belt is too good of a card to replace on the active for Lucky Egg. Unless you are playing something that spreads or does counters (*cough* gengar *cough*), you should play Belt as your tool of choice.

This advice does not "depend on the deck you are using". This is globally true. Decks should not be so bulky that they don't have room for Uxie... ever. The only deck that really uses its 6 bench spots for important pokemon that I can think of is Arceus... and even then I've seen Uxie played in it after the Ripple Swell. And, once again, you should NEVER EVER play Lucky Egg unless you find a way to cheat the system. The fact that it does not let you draw when you need to makes it a worthless card. This card creates a lot of "I could have used this last turn... but now it is too late" situations. Also, the fact that it replaces Expert Belt, a GAME WINNING CARD, on your active is just absurd.

"Draw" really depends on what you need. Teching in Cynthia is not a bad idea sometimes. This is especially true when you play really easy-to-kill mon (*cough* Great Mew *cough*). You'd be better off relying on Judge for draw than Cynthia just because Judge hurts your opponent. PONT is the best form of solid draw right now. POV is also solid when you don't wanna burn your hand. When you need small but quick draws, play Unown R, Pokemon Rescue, Pokedex Handy910is, Pokedrawer+, and other cards like that. Also, a solid 2-3 Collector, 3-4 Bebe, and 2-1 Uxie line will not hurt by any means. This is what most top decks do now... it is just really good.

Uxie can help out sometimes in Charizard although I probably wouldn't run more than one. It provides a nice option if Ninetails is/are Sprayed and it's a Basic so it's easier to get out.

dmaster out.

Hello zero, it is you again.

I run two Expert Belt in my deck, which are, like you said, vital cards (for me). Therefore, I run Department store girl. Don t tell me that: "Oh, it makes you use a suppoter cards, which is VERY VERY important." This is why I run Cynthia, because I get reset only when my pokemon are fainted. When they are not, I can use trainers like DSG, Cyrius Conspiracy (I have some SPs in my deck this time), Cyrius Initiative (to disrupt), fisherman... I might not be as fast as you guys because I only reshuffle after a pokemon dies, but lucky Egg and Cynthia give me an extra-extra boost, which is enough until another dies, or even two.

I attach it to my preparing pokemon, which is going to died.

I guess Uxie can also be really good due to the new Seeker. But it enable your opponent to do the same. Therefore, even Arceus or Charizard can use it.

I guess you can still put a Cynthia in GENERAL decks with some PONT. Sometimes, it can be better.

Read the front page of Pokebeach.

The new rules says that any plus power (old and new ones) will not be attached to a pokemon. Only like a trainer, you discard it after using. The same effect but apply to every of your pokemon.

Uxie is good whether you use Hunter (NEVER... EVER... call it that 4kids name). Like you said, Hunter gives your opponent a free uxie. You can just drop Uxie and forget about it. You failed to address the concern about Lucky Egg letting you draw when you need. Lucky Egg is decent for draw, but usually you want to draw ON YOUR TURN. Like I said, Cynthia is a fantastic card, but you should NEVER use more than 2 in a deck. Relying on pokemon getting KO'd is fine when you play something like Tomb as a starter, but it should never be done in a major scale. Besides, why would you use Cynthia when you have Twins if you want to rely on KO's. PONT is just so much more consistant. DSG is fine... but you should ONLY use one. It is usually pretty worthless, but it won't kill you if you play it. Only play one if you have >3 tools (which it sounds like you have). That doesn't count if you play Energy Gain (you said you have SP... so idk). In SP, you should NEVER use too many tools. You will only put tools on your attackers. Remember, you have 6 mon to give up. You want to optimize your attack which means 3-4 E-gain and 1-2 Belt. That leaves zero room for Egg. Same thing with most other decks. They play 2-3 belt. If they give up 2 prizes due to belt at any time, they will have, once again, very few prizes to cede to Egg drops. Most decks now, if they use a starter, SHOULD use spiritomb start. This, once again, limits the use of Lucky Egg. I cannot see many possibilities where adding Egg would be helpful.

Just to tell you that my deck has SPs but not as main pokemon, so no energie gain. Anyway, I just run one of the lucky eggs. I consider Uxie and PONT like really good cards. As we are talking about general deck (and mine is NOT), I think what you have said is totally right.

I hate the name Seeker too. Why can t they call it Hunter?

I don't have uxie and I still fair well, point is there's other draw system's. Staraptor FB, emcee's, engineer's, POV, the list go's on, point is if you have issue's with your draw add in a few cards that are going to give your deck draw power. cya

Ah, finally somebody original and who play with all the cards that are there. Pokemon would be so much funnier if each person had his strategy and his own idea of deck because everything is fair. Just look at the meta now, you have the SPs, the Stage 2 Ultra Cheap cards(Machamp SF, Gengar SF Fainting spell OMG, Kindra Prime) combined with cheap Trainers like BTS and Rare Candie, and Donphan. All other are just crap. Take Metagross UL, it is a super good card if you know how to use it. Fail...
