How exactly does Steam work?

Hey guys. I just had a question. I have long avoided Steam for various reasons. But uhh, I am looking at using it now, and I am looking at buying the Valve Collection for $99USD (Which is like $140 my currency. =[)

Anywho. My question, if anyone knows the answer, after I pay for it, does it download the entire pack? Or just the game(s) I want to play? The Valve Collection is quite large...

Also, in asking this, the games are linked to your account, not your PC, so if I wanted to play my Steam games on another PC, would they have to be downloaded onto that PC? In saying this, would the entire Valve Collection be downloaded, or just the game(s) I wanted to play?

Thanks in advance!

^ you download whatever games you want whenever.

and yes they are linked to your account and yes if you wanted to play them on another pc you would have to redownload them.

Steam owns hard bro.

Steam is Valve software that provides automatic updates to games. You can download games straight to your desktop too.

dmaster out.
