Ruling Help an ex-player

Posted a thread in the wrong forum earlier, sorry about that.

I'l keep it short: I stopped playing a few years back because the organisers were being an ass to the players, and then decided to completely stop supporting us altogether.

So I found out by pure chance that the TCG scene is still alive and well (and I am still kicking myself in the groin for not knowing this), so I need a crash course about current gameplay/rule changes, metagames, etc. Prerelease is in 2 weeks (May Day), so I need to get up to speed by then.

If it helps, the last time I played was with a Banette beatdown, when Infernape Lv.X was rampant.
 
You can find the most recent copy of the rulebook on http://www.pokemon.com. Click on How To Play to access it. Premier Events require that all cards in your deck are DP or newer until further notice. The player who goes first can't play any trainers, supporters, or stadiums on their first turn. The second player may though. Confusion places 3 damage counters.~Mark
