GameStop has announced that when Destined Rivals releases on May 30th, they will only allow customers to purchase one of each product. This is to "to help ensure more fans receive the opportunity to access the latest expansion."

The same limit will apply to all new Pokemon TCG releases going forward, including the Prismatic Evolutions Binder Collection releasing on May 24th.

The only exception will be single booster packs, which will continue to have a purchase limit of five per customer.

Eh… it’s a nice gesture in theory but this doesn’t really help much when scalpers clean out stores in groups and stores get a small number of units in per restock.
This wasn’t the case before? The problem was that people were bringing their family of 10 to get around this and buy stuff for them
The previous limit was generally 2 of each item per restock and the group thing is well known scalper tactic already.

GameStop equivalent in NZ is EB Games. They already sold out on preorders. Does this mean they have additional availability now since theoretically those preorders are now limited to 1?

Best solution: stop distributing to webshop only companies. Brick and mortar is obliged to sell pokemon. Problem solved
OP and MtG already do this and their prices are just fine. MtG has $7.99 packs AT WORST. Our cheapest pack at the shop I work at is $6.99 (PAR/TEF). I hope they do this. Not sure how it would affect people like AlphaInvestments or Poke_NE who I'm fairly sure only have webshops. Dunno.

If it brings down pack prices and makes it more available, then so be it.

Yeah a little late for this GameStop lol, it's a wrap. Maybe GamesStop & other big box stores should stop doing back door deals and having employees hold product for themselves instead of customers

Right, like I’ll trust GameStop with purchasing limits. Doubt this will be put into practice as a general rule across GameStops, the ones enforcing those limits currently will remain the same ones

Yeah, how whatnot gets walls of product for 5 shows a day Is mind boggling. They just robbing trucks?
Vendors prioritize the online "stores" over brick and mortar, TPCI refuses to limit to the online "stores" when it's some random shmo ripping and shipping or charging scalper prices...

Big guys like alpha would buy a store i guess? Or they'll retire.

I wish they made anyone over 18 answer basic pokemon trivia for product before limitations, and limited it to 1 product for kids at this rate. Anything to slow down the people consuming this for pure greed.
