Ruling Fossil Questions

So I decided to run a Fossil Rush for the upcoming Battle Roads (This Sunday). So I have many questions about Fossils (the trainer card) in general.

Question 1:

I have seen several posts on these forums saying either side is correct. Do I HAVE to have a non-fossil basic in the deck for it to be legal? Or can it be pure fossil?

Question 2:

I am fairly that if I go first I cannot play any Fossil's from my hand during my first turn (but can during set-up). So, does Spiritomb prevent me from laying them if it's their active since I am playing the trainer as if it were a pokemon and not as if it were a trainer?

Question 3:

When the fossil is in play, does it count as both a pokemon and a trainer, a trainer or a pokemon? Basically I want to know if say Dialga G Lv. X's pokebody would effect it or not while it is a fossil.

Question 4:

I am just double checking on this one, but I may play a fossil on the bench and then immediately discard it, right?

Question 1: As of EX Holon Phantoms (or somewhere thereabouts), there has to be at least 1 actual basic Pokemon card in the deck in order to be legal.

Question 2: Spiritomb's Keystone Seal will prohibit the playing of fossils. You are still playing a trainer from your hand, and Spiritomb prevents that.

Question 3: It counts as both a Pokemon and a trainer card in play. (For practical purposes, it is primarily a Pokemon.) Therefore, Time Crystal would shut off a fossil's Poke-Body, and Hippowdon LV.X's Sand Reset would not shuffle it back into the deck.

Question 4: If you so desire, yes.
