Pokemon has announced the cancelation of the Flordia Regional Championships, which would have been held from April 1st through 3rd at the Orange County Convention Center. The official tournament schedule was updated with this notice earlier today:
While we prefer not to cancel events, the safety and well-being of our community is our top priority. Due to changes in government regulations and restrictions in the state of Florida, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Florida Regional Championships.
So far, the cancelations appear to only affect the Florida Regional Championships. The Salt Lake Regional Championships are still scheduled for March 18th-20th.
The updated schedule follows below:
US and Canada

The UK Liverpool Regionals have not released tickets yet, and the UK is unable to appoint judges/register TOs still due to an ongoing problem with finding a vetting company.

Not a chance UK Regionals go ahead in March unless some Miracle happens.

people are being asked for vendor slots and payments are being taken for those, so some one still believes Liverpool is going forward

Staff has been selected and given positions for some days now, Liverpool is actually quite likely to happen

Aside Brasil, I don't think it will happen neither another Regional nor a Special Event for the rest of Latin America.

I have no doubts that is directly linked to Ron Deathsentences unscientific management for the state of Florida. I hope we can begin to allow sanctioned play with rules that are based on science, and keep everyone safe!

That is just as short sided as you would expect TPCI to be. Right when everyone is getting rid of mask mandates, including Washington State Gov Jay Inslee in the home state of TPCI, Pokemon is way, way behind the curve and trying in enforce the mask mandates still.

Didn't staff calls for Liverpool get announced recently?

Indoor mask mandates for vaccinated being slowly lifted here and there and no mask mandate allowed for anyone, vaccinated or not, is not the same thing. "Everyone" is a stretch.

Staff call has ended, staff has been selected and roles assigned, Tournament Center is well into advancing the logistics of the event, the forecast for it is good
Good to know, thank you everyone that's provided insight on this.
Seems wild no tickets or player info 6 weeks out from the event though.....For full clarity it will be my first regionals so this may be normal behaviour?

No not at all, normally tickets would have gone up 1-2 months ago and have already sold out.
People need to book hotels etc so it's really frustrating that all the planning is going ahead without actually informing the players. No point holding an event if players are given a week to sort out arriving.
