Ruling Evosoda and Mega Evolutions

Just saw this in PTCGO - someone using Evosoda to search for/evolve a Mega Evolution. Is this allowed in over-the-board "tournament" play?

Yes, it is a valid move.

The card tells you to look for a card that evolves from one of your Pokémon in play. Pokémon-EX can still evolve. Therefore, they can be targeted with Evosoda.

Take into consideration, though, that if you don't have a Spirit Link, you still lose your turn.
