Email notification option for Profile Messages.

I've been having issues lately with Profile messaging. Not with the system it's self, rather not knowing when I get them. Since a lot of people do it, and I'm not always online, why not a similar feature like email notifications for Private Messages for Profile Messages.

It would help me a great deal. What does everyone here think?

If such a system were implemented, someone could easily spam a user's profile with simple, single-letter messages, leading to a flooded profile and email. Sure it can all be deleted, but it's a pain in the ass when your computer/phone gives off a 'ping' whenever you get an email.

And if you actually can't tell if you have a new profile message or not even when you're on the forums, a number will appear next to the word "Profile" on the top bar, alerting you of X number of messages.

What I mean is a function that can be turned on/off for members. The same could be said about Private Messages. You can choose to have the function on/off for Private Messages. What I'm sugesting is a similar function.

You do know that whenever you get a new profile message, there's a number in parentheses next to the "Profile" link at the top, correct?

And there is an option in the User CP (under "Edit Options") that can restrict who can send you profile comments (anyone, friends, or no one).

Are you asking that there be an email notification for profile comments, or are you asking something completely different?

Thats exactly what I'm asking for. A email notification for profile comments. I'm well aware of the number beside profile.

We'll look into adding it. Right now there are a number of problems with the forum email system. Once those are fixed we'll try to do this.
