  1. After seeing how popular Drampa GX was at the Madison regionals, I decided to make my own Drampa deck. The main focus of the deck is to move energy around to power up Drampa GX. Here is what I came up with:

    *Pokemon (16)*
    -4 Drampa GX (GUR 115/145)
-4 Drampa (GUR Prerelease promo SM21)
    - 1 Rayquaza EX (ROS 104/108)
    -1 M Rayquaza EX (ROS 76/108)
    -2 Dratini (SUM 94/149)
    -2 Dragonair (SUM 95/149)
-2 Dragonite (one of them is ROS 51/108, the other ROS 52/108)

    *Trainer cards (28)*
    -Team Flare Grunt
    -N
    -Professor Kukui
    -Professor Sycamore
    -Pokemon Center Lady
    -Winona
    -Brock's Grit (full art)
    -Multi Switch x2
    -Sky Field
    -Super Rod
    -Choice Band x2
    -Float Stone x3
    -Trainer's Mail x2
    -Nest Ball x2
    -Special Charge x2
    -VS Seeker x2
    -Ultra Ball
    -Rayquaza Spirit Link
    -Field Blower
    -Rescue Stretcher

    *Energy (16)*
    -4 DCE
    -2 Double Dragon
    -2 Rainbow Energy
    -4 Grass
    -4 Electric

When I've play tested it it's done well and did aright on its maiden voyage at my local league today. Any opinions/suggestions are welcome!

I play tested it at a League Challenge today... and I did horrendously. I don't even want to talk about it

But after my horrifying defeat I made a major overhaul to the deck. Will post updated deck list when I fine tune it and play test it

I don't really get the strategy on this one. Drampa just don't synergize with your other pokemons. If you want to focus on playing energies with Dragonair you could maybe add Darkrai but play only Dark Energy and maybe Double Dragon Energy too. The strategy should be to attach as many energies as you can to make Darkrai hit hard and to tank some damage to Drampa to hit 150 every turn. Also the Rainbow is good there since it deals 1 damage counter, making it easier for Drampa to be ready.
And you should totally remove the Rayquaza since it's hard to setup to deal 300 damage and discard 2 energies. Not worth it.

Yeah, it was was too clunky. But at the time I thought it was good lol. But now I'm doing a complete overhaul and will post the updated deck list when it's completed.

Yep, always keep in mind the meta which in such cases could totally make some cards that were useful to be totally useless now. Rayquaza was a strong EX but now that the meta changed and it's kind of slow because of GR Garbodor which could 1-hitko if you don't take care of your item usage which is also needed to set up this Rayquaza. So, if you gonna play it there's 2 options, either you use lots of items to attach these energies and deal 300 unnecessary damage and risk yourself against Garbodor or you just change the way you play. Just imagina a situation where you have to discard 2 energies to deal 300 damage to a single Garbodor.
Slower doesn't mean softer. There are decks using Drampa GX that hit as hard as rock but also are slow enough to keep items in count. Only use them when you really need.
If you consider adding up Darkrai you could get Altar of the Moone which lets you retreat for free as long as you have any Dark Energy attached. It's a good card that allows you to manage the damage your opponent deals as you hit 150 with Drampa every turn.
There are other variations of Drampa GX decks but the only one I get to think which involves Dragonair is along with Darkrai. You could remove them and add some Garbodor or Espeon GX or Tauros. If you do so you may want to get Magma Secret Base to set up the damage counters and hit with Drampa.

I play tested it at league yesterday and I went 2-1! Very happy with the new improvements! Swapped Arceus for Steven in the event that one of the Leles is prized. Plus I can pull a basic grass energy to power Bulu

I also considered Skyla instead of Steven to look for a Trainer, especially if one of the others I had in play got field blown away (ffb, choice band, float stone, etc)
