If I were to put two cards in one slot of my binder, (in separate sleeves of course) would it damage them?

If you can avoid it, I would but I haven't seen any harm in placing two cards into the same pocket. Doing so could prevent the binder from closing correctly which could damage cards if it starts to warp. My opinion is to just put each card in its own pocket if you have the space. You also don't stretch the pocket, which does happen if you place two or more cards in a pocket.
One trick I've found is when I want to double up on cards in a pocket, I place both cards back to back in a penny sleeve (BCW, Ultra Pro, etc.). I then place that into the pocket. It won't stretch the pocket like with two sleeved cards and it holds them well in a clear sheet so that you barely see the back of the other card when looking at the front facing card.
