Ruling Does Beedrill G work in Speedrill?

A friend and I are having a dispute. He claims that Beedrill G will work with the Regular Beedrill's Band Attack.

The attack reads:

Band Attack- {G} - 30x
This attack does 30 damage for each Beedrill you have in play.

I believe that this will not work, as Beedrill G (although it may be a beedrill) does not have the same name of "Beedrill". It does 30 for each "Beedrill" in play, not "Beedrill" and "Beedrill G". Am I correct?

We're gonna get an official ruling at league this weekend, I just thought I'd try to get an answer earlier.

Band Attack will not gain a boost from Beedrill G as Band Attack states for each beedrill you have in play, not Beedrill G as that goes by a different name.
 
***In case any other of these things are questioned***The following are a list of the pre/suffixes that count as different pokemon:
G
SP
dark
FB
GL
E4
C
Light
Shining
Legend

These count as the the same:
ex (Unless it says otherwise)
lv.X (Unless it says otherwise)
Prime (I'm pretty sure)
Delta

And I think that's it. A good reference is that you can only have 4 of any card "species" in your deck. If you have more that for of a pokemon, it is one of the pre/suffixes that make it different.

*edit* Does it not prevent these from later arising?
