ok me and my friend have found this very confusing. and many cards have completely contradicted each other in terms of whjat active pokemon are.

so i ask what is the active pokemon.

are pokemon on your bench still active?

Case number 1.
MY crawdount has a poke body
(as long as crawdount is your active pokemon, when any of your active pokemon do damage that is incresed by 10)

but how can my pokemon do damage unless they are active. and there fore why would that pokebody increase damage of my other pokemon if he has to be active for it to work?

Case number 2
My abomasnow.
(as long as abomasnow is my active pokemon all damage is reduced by 20 to each of my pokemon)
now that makes sense only works when hes active but by the logic of the crawdaunt one all my pokemon are active?

Case number 3
Double full heal
remove all status effects from each of your active pokemon!!???
WHAT. bench pokmon cant have status effects. so why remove from each?.

Case 3/4
i have a chansey.
Attack 1. does 20 damage to each defending pokemon??? is that thier active one and their benched ones?

attack 2. remove 1 damage counter from each of your active pokemon???
again is that not just him. or are my bench active?

please there are countless times when this seems to make no sense.

and i heard somewhere there can be 2 active pokemon at once? if this is the answer can someone elaborate on HOW!!!

thanks in advance

Active Pokemon: Normally, you only have 1 Active Pokemon at a time. It is the Pokemon that you can attack with. During the EX-series, there were rules made for Double Battles (in which you can have 2 Active Pokemon and up to 4 Bench), so cards such as Double Full Heal are worded for such Double Battles (as well as some Poke-Bodies). Benched Pokemon are not Active.

Defending Pokemon: The Pokemon on your opponent's side that you are attacking, that is also in your opponent's Active spot. In the case of the Chansey you mentioned, it would normally do just 20, but if you were playing Double Battle rules, you would hit both Defending Pokemon for 20.

Really, most of your dilemma comes from the Double Battle rules where you can have 2 Active Pokemon at once. These rules aren't often played by though, and are usually just for fun.

Your active Pokemon is the one that is above all your others. It doesn't include your bench. The reason it says all your active Pokemon is if you did a double battle. You have two Pokemon active at a time and can have up to four on your bench for that.~Mark
