sorry for being late, this week we're going to to take a break from the OU metagame and talk about UU.

If you could make any Pokemon from OU become UU, what Pokemon would you pick, and how do you think it will work in UU?

Also, feel free to PM me any ideas for future discussions.

Swampert, I don't see why it's still OU when it has competition from Quagsire and Gastrodon, both of which are arguably better. Not to mention the most used Pokemon in the game is a Grass type. I haven't played UU yet so I can't say what I think would be good/too good there.

Yay! Under-Used discussion. :3
I would personally take Hippowdon and put him into the UU tier. Hippowdon isn't as viable in OU these days, with Tyranitar being the obvious Sand Stream user, and Hippowdon just isn't the staller it used to be, with all the counters running around. It would make a comeback in UU as a healthy and viable wall. A short explanation, but a good one nonetheless. Oh, and I've also linked to this thread in my signature, if anyone wants a quick link sometime.

I'd have to say Hydreigon. First off, I've never actually seen anyone play it in OU. Definately a lot less people than those who play Mienshao or Whimsicott or something like that. Now, onto the Pokemon itself. It's too slow. It's that simple. It's got a great movepool, good special attack, and decent bulk, but not enough to take a super effective hit from any sweeper, and any sweeper in the game can outspeed it. Sure the immunity to psychic and ground is great, but ice, dragon, and fighting are really bad weaknesses. Thunderus can Focus Blast you. Excadrill can X-Scissor/Brick Break you, etc. Also, the only set up move it has that boosts its special attack is Work Up, which sucks. Sure it can hit a bunch for super effective but it can't take down any walls either. I don't think it would break the UU metagame either since the musketeers, mienshao, any rotoms, and a host of other Pokemon can beat it with ease.

Probably Lucario because watching it sweep in a metagame where there's no Gliscor, Excadrill, Gengar and Jellicent sounds hilarious. Volcarona would be an interesting Pokemon to bring down as there isn't any Drizzle to contend with.

Or maybe I feel like ruining things for everybody and I'll suggest Politoed...

You should play me more often then. ;)
Hydreigon should be kept in OU, IMO. Sure it's slow, but who cares when you can Scarf it? The trick with Hydreigon is prediction. You can switch into a Blissey to wall it, but Blissey doesn't appreciate those Specs Focus blasts too much. If you can Scarf or Specs Hydreigon and predict nicely, it wins games. Bluffing Specs with a White Herb for Draco Meteor is a laugh riot, not to mention.

This. Nuff' said. It would have a big impact - it would be the only auto weather - I forget if drought is banned altogether now...

Drought is banned from UU, but you forget that Snover and Hippopotas are UU.

Well, I don't want Hippowdon in UU so much for the Weather, but for it's stalling abilities and limited movepool. Evolite makes Hippopotas somewhat bulky, but I think it's evolution is just a great fit Pokemon for UU.
