Pure Power doesn't shut off Pokémon powers on Pokémon ex. Medicham doesn't play Crystal Shard; it instead uses Magnetic Storm and Sky Kick to deal with fighting resistance.
 
Sky Kick does 70 damage to Zapdos usually, and if Medicham ex is ( C ), it doesn't have resistance, and the attack does 100 damage because of the resistance.
