Ruling Card Errata?

Its where the text of a card changes from when it was first released, for example the Onix. The Compendium will list the errata.~Mark

An errata is when the text of a card changes, changing its gameplay. You are to play cards based on the errata in those cases, instead of the card text.

Example: Gengar SF
"Once during your opponent's turn, if Gengar would be Knocked Out by damage from an attack, you may flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Knocked Out."

Errata:
"Once during your opponent's turn, if Gengar would be Knocked Out by damage from an attack, you may flip a coin. If heads, the Attacking Pokemon is now Knocked Out."

The difference is that Fainting Spell actually targets the Pokemon that attacked. If Gengar AR's Shadow Skip hit Gengar SF for a KO, Fainting Spell would target Gengar AR instead of the new Active Pokemon. Similarly, if Uxie's Psychic Restore is used for a KO, Fainting Spell will be of no effect, as the Attacking pokemon has left play.
