k. So if I have an active Drapion out can i level it up the same turn it evolved? if i can't.... why not? level up isn't the same thing as evolving right?

No. Certain things are similar, but they aren't the same thing. I'm pretty sure one of the pages of the rule book states that you can't level up a Pokemon the same turn it is played.~Mark
