Ruling Can A Special Dark Energy Add +10 To An "Effect Of An Attack"?

Let's take Giratina Lv. X for example. If I have 4 Special Dark Energy attached to Giratina Lv. X (given that Weavile SW is in play), do I do 70 damage to the defending Pokemon and only 30 to each benched Pokemon?

Also, if I'm placing damage counters onto the defending Pokemon, would I add +10 to the damage done with Special Dark Energy? Basically, do Special Dark Energy get applied to effects of attacks?

Special Darkness Energies only add 10 damage to the Defending Pokemon. The Extra damage is not applied to benched Pokemon or effects of attacks. Think of it as a Plus Power that stays on your Pokemon.

That's what I'm asking though. Giratina does 30 damage to each Pokemon, so does Special Darkness Energy add +10 to the defending Pokemon I attack? Or is Giratina's attack considered an "effect of an attack"? Basically, Special Darkness Energy only add +10 to an attack's base damage. If there's no base damage, then the extra 10 doesn't get applied?

If it does 30 damage to each Pokemon, then it does 30 damage to the Defending Pokemon, which would be increased due to Special Darkness Energies if you had Weavile in play.

OMG...so if I have 4 Special Darkness Energy attached to Giratina X (with Weavile + Darkrai X in play), I do 70 to the defending Pokemon and 30 to each benched Pokemon?! Is that even fair?! haha

What is considered an "effect of an attack"? As far as I know, it's special conditions, flipping, preventing damage, etc.

giratina would do 70 to the active and 30 to each bench pokemon.

Does this apply to Special Metal Energy also, so if I have two special metal on a metal pokemon damage is reduced by 20?

Damage? Yes. Effects? No.
If it's on your bench with Sp. Metal, I believe it still prevents by 20.
